I remember Marlene fondly as part of our kindergarten team at Warwick School years ago. Marlene was always so kind, friendly, and supportive. She was very outgoing and had an infectious laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time. Be at peace.

Marlene's friendship was one of the very first that I made when we moved to Fremont in 1989. We remained friends even after we moved to S. CA in 2014. We talked on the phone several times per week and she always thanked me for keeping in touch. I will dearly miss Marlene and her graciousness. She will remain in my heart forever.

Marlene had a long and successful career as a kindergarten teacher with Fremont Unified School District for over 20 years. I worked her at Azevada and Warwick Elementary Schools where we were colleagues and good friends. We shared work, life, family, friends, laughter and tears for over 15 years. Her shoulder shaking laughter is one of my fondest memories. She loved to laugh! I am grateful for her life and the difference she made in mine.

Marlene was a creative, generous, beautiful woman. I am her cousin Linda’s daughter. I grew up in Michigan and have many fond memories of family gatherings at Rita’s home (Marlene’s mother). We always had amazing food and wonderful conversations. I remember being a child - my sisters and I always wanted to get to the family room as quickly as possible, because we knew that there would be a bowl filled with Hershey’s chocolates! As an adult, I had the opportunity to travel to California on business, and was near to where Marlene was living at the time. We were able to get together for dinner - that was the last time I saw her in person. I will miss her, and I know that my mom will miss Marlene so much - they were like sisters.
