Marjorie Byrd's Obituary
Marjorie C Byrd Oct. 13, 1913 Oct. 22, 2009 Resident of Hayward Passed away peacefully after a six year battle with Alzeimers. Predeceased in 2005 by her beloved husband of 70 years, Wallace C. Byrd. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, Marge and Wallace moved to California in 1955 after Wallace was transferred with Weirton Steel Corporation. Marjorie became an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in San Leandro, enjoying women’s circles and quilting with the ladies on Wednesdays. She loved to gift family and friends with her beautiful quilts, along with taking many lap quilts to Fairmont Hospital to donate to the patients. She also enjoyed bowling and being surrounded by her family. She is survived by sons Jack N. Byrd (Cherryl), Wallace W. Byrd, and daughter Beverly S. Byrd. Four grandchildren Patricia Luba (Scott), Michael Byrd, Samantha Byrd, Kathryn Byrd, and six great-grandchildren. To know Marge was to love her. Her kindness and passion were just a few of her many assets. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. We will celebrate her life with services at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward on Tuesday, October 27th, at 1:15 p.m.
