Marisa B. Acopio's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that Chapel of the Chimes announces the passing of Marisa B. Acopio. On Monday, the third of March, 2025, Mrs. Acopio quietly slipped away from her earthly bonds and gently entered into eternal rest. She will be forever loved and missed by her devoted family.
In loving memory of Marisa B. Acopio, 62, who passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2025 in San Leandro, CA. Marisa was born on July 24th, 1962 in the Philippines to her father, Paterno and mother, Celerina Biscocho. She was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend. Marisa was known for her sincere generosity, dedication to family, and her passion for cooking and gardening. She spent her childhood through early adulthood in the Philippines where she studied at the University of Batangas with a focus in Secretarial studies until she immigrated to the United States in 1996 to call the little town of San Leandro, CA her forever home. In California, she worked roles at Oakland International Airport as an aviation security attendant, skycap porter, and wheelchair assistant agent when she helped countless people have a frictionless airport experience. Outside of work, she was an avid gardener who loved to grow and care for her cherished orchids, a homecook who loved to make delicious Filipino dishes to share with her friends and family, and an aunt who enjoyed spending time with all her nieces, nephews, and their children by showering them with her love and kindness. A vigil and rosary service will be held on March 12th, 2025 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at the Chapel of the Chimes Reflection Chapel on 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. The funeral service will be held on March 13, 2025 from 8:30am - 10:00pm at the Chapel of the Chimes Reflection Chapel. Marisa is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Nicholas Acopio; her siblings and their partners - Myrna & Herman Brown, Edna & Clinton Murray, Susan & David Castro, Rogel & Mina Biscocho, Lilia & Donato Mendoza, Clemen Biscocho, Monette & Ricky Vellos; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Herman Brown Jr; Omar-Shariff Murray; Aeron Von & Hillary J. Biscocho; Jeralyn Biscocho; Skyler Haleigh Vellos; Donalyn, Ronalyn, Dan Darrell, Mark Dheniel, & Dhan Mark Mendoza and their children. She was preceded in death by Paterno Biscocho (father) and Dante Biscocho (brother). Marisa’s family is forever grateful for the love and support shown during this difficult time. Marisa’s memory will remain in our hearts always, and they will be deeply missed by all who knew them. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Kaiser Medical Center for their compassionate care during her final days. May Marisa rest in peace in God’s care. May the Lord bring peace and comfort to those who mourn.
