Marilyn Jane Leach's Obituary
Marilyn Jane Leach, 93 passed away peacefully on April 24, 2019.Marilyn was born on April 1926 to Frank & Emelia Butler in Oakland CA. Marilyn attended the University of Redlands, then transferred to UC Berkeley. In 1952 she married the love of her life, David Leach. Marilyn and Dave had 3 children, Suzanne, Gary, & Diana.Marilyn worked outside the home after the kids were in school, with her strong math skills and organizational talents, she worked in the accounting department at Daughtrey’s Department Store in Castro Valley and wasd a property manager at Lotz Realty in Hayward.Marilyn had a busy social life meeting friends to play bridge, Women’s Club, Y Wives, and attending church First Presbyterian Church in Castro Valley.Marilyn also worked to stay fit with exercise and swimming classes, walking around Castro Valley, even occasional golf games with Dave. Marilyn had musical talents as well, playing the piano since she was a child. Marilyn loved to travel with Dave throughout their lives together.Most of all, Marilyn loved her family – her children( Sue, Gary and Diana), son-in-law Rick Walters and daughter-in-law LaDonna Leach, grandchildren( Kari, Justin, Katie, Ashley, Kelli, Chanelle, and Carly), their spouses, and her great-grandchildren( Kelton, Brooklyn, Kaiden, Braelyn, Carter, Nola, Ross, Lucas, Seth, and Baby Cardella). She was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother. The sudden and unexpected loss of her beloved daughter Diana took tragic and emotional toll on her, but she continued to be a source of strength, love, and care for her entire family.Through all her years, Marilyn loved to laugh. We will always remember Marylin’s big laugh with her beautiful smile and hold dearly all the memories with her.A celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, May 3 at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Castro Valley.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hope Hospice who took very good care of Marilyn in conjunction with The parkview.www.hopehospice.com
