Marie H. Schott's Obituary
Marie H. Schott, born Monday July 14th, 1941 in San Francisco, California; Entered into Rest on Friday September 20th, 2013 in Fremont, California. Age 72 years. A resident of Fremont, California.Marie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Herbert N. Schott, and by her beloved son, Michael G. Schott. Also survived by her sisters, Barbara Reardon and Melanie Rose Mills, and by her brother, John Heckenberg. She was predeceased by both of her parents.Marie attended Catholic grade and high school, graduating from Immaculate Conception Academy, and attended several college courses related to her work. She worked in the banking industry for many years. After retiring from banking, she successfully operated a used book store in Fremont for 13 years.She loved to travel, and visited Europe with her sister and friend. She also loved to read, with mysteries being one of her favorite subjects. She also liked to garden some, and grew her annual crop of tomatoes. Marie’s father loved Westerns, and Marie inherited his love for this genre from him. Despite leaving us too soon, Marie was blessed with a fully-active life, and we will miss her very much.In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society.Visitation was held on Friday, September 27th, 2013, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, at St. James The Apostle Catholic Church, 34700 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94555. Burial followed the Mass, at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544.
