Marian Margaret Riffe's Obituary
Marian M. Riffe, 94 passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2002 at Ignacio Valley Care Center in Walnut Creek, California. She was born to Anthony Wilber & Margaret Agnes Asvitt on November 2, 1907 in Oakland, California. She was a resident of Pittsburg, California for the last four years. She was formerly of Hayward, California for 32 years and prior of Oakland, California. She was a Typist Clerk for 26 years for the City of Oakland. Marian was a member of the "Just Us Club". Marian was an avid reader. Marian graduated from Fremont High School. She loved spending time with her family. Marian was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anthony Wilber & Margaret Agnes Asvitt. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Leonard N. Riffe in 1962. She was also preceded in death by a loving son, Noel Riffe and three dear brothers, Bert, Howard & Russell Asvitt. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Susan Riffe.Marian is survived by her loving daughter, Marilyn Giaras and her husband Leon of Hayward, California. Her two loving sons and their wives, Harvey & Mary Jayne of Antioch, California and Kenneth & Joyce of Stockton, California, survive her. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law Dorothy Riffe. Her dear sister, Agnes and her husband Loren Lind of Concord, California survive her. Marian was a proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren; Diane Smith of Tracy, California, Karen Maldonado of Fremont, California, Randy Riffe of Hayward, California, Lori Ogata of Brentwood, California, Scot Riffe of San Francisco, California, Hugh Smith of Pittsburg, California, Sandra Moore of Vallejo, California, Ronald Riffe of San Marcos, California, Charles Riffe of Vista, California and Kristine Riffe of Pyualup, Washington. Marian also leaves behind 17 wonderful great-grandchildren and 3 precious great great grandchildren.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. with a Rosary & Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home - Reflection Chapel; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544.
