Maria Ruiz's Obituary
Maria S. Ruiz was born on January 18, 1935 in Mexico. She married Eliseo Ruiz, and they settled in Mexicali, MX. In the 1970s she moved to California making Oakland her home for the next 50 years. Maria was the true definition of a hard worker. She worked various jobs before retiring, in order to provide for her children. She became the sole provider for her family, after becoming a widow in 1974. Maria was a devoted and loving mother to 9 children. She was very proud of her family and a wonderful grandmother to 32 grand-children and to 25 great grand-children. Maria loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours in the kitchen preparing and cooking, making sure there was always food on the table for her guests. She enjoyed knitting, watching classic films, and gardening. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Eliseo Ruiz, she is survived by her 7 children: Salvador, Rosa, Raul, Hilda, Martin, Ester, and Aurelia. She was a mother to all of her family. It was an honor and privilege to call her Mama Maria. She will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.
