Maria Rosanna Matro Papa's Obituary
On Wednesday,
September 16, 2020, Maria Rosanna Matro Papa, loving daughter, sister, and mother, passed away at Washington Hospital in Fremont, CA at the young age of 47.
Rose was born
on November 13, 1972 at St. Luke’s Hospital in San Francisco, CA to Rodolfo Tagle Papa and Amelia Matro Papa. She is the eldest sister of Bernadette Papa Seijo, Ryan R.A. Papa, Raymond A. Papa, and Elaine A. Papa whom she helped guide throughout their lives.
Rose is a proud mother of two children, Jeremy Mark P. Legaspi and Rachel Belen P. Legaspi. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Cal State Hayward (Cal State East Bay).
Rose had a passion
for painting, scrabble, puzzles, and watching the San Jose Sharks. She was known for her quick wit, captivating smile and protective “Ate” spirit. From the age of 7-12, she lived in the Philippines with her sister and aunts in Caloocan City and Imus, Cavite.
At around 13, she and her sister moved back to the United States but continued to visit the Philippines frequently. During her early adulthood she was somewhat of a car enthusiast, who enjoyed fixing up her Peach Honda Civic.
If described
with one word, Rose would be a fighter. At a young age of 17, she was diagnosed with lupus, but always persevered and more than once proved doctors wrong by beating the odds. Rose was an inspiration to all of those around her and will truly be missed.
