MARIA B GARCIA's Obituary
Maria Balajadia Garcia passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of her family.
Maria was born in Agana, Guam, on August 10, 1939. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Paul P. Garcia. Together, they had four daughters and resided in Guam until relocating to Fremont, California, in 1976.
Maria was a dedicated professional who took great pride in her work. She served as a cashier at Andersen Air Force Base in Yigo, Guam; a receptionist at Guam Memorial Hospital in Tamuning, Guam; and later, a receptionist in the Orthopedic Department at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Clinic in Hayward, California.
Outside of work, she was a creative soul who enjoyed cake decorating and floral arranging, and she always looked forward to spirited trips to the casino. Maria's deepest devotion was to her family. She cherished being surrounded by her loved ones at any opportunity, especially during the holidays. Fittingly, she spent her final Christmas Day in the company of her family.
Maria brought immense joy to everyone she met, gracing them with a radiant smile and a positive attitude. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, generosity, and the welcoming spirit she extended to all.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Paul P. Garcia. She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Mendiola, Linda Garcia, Therese Garcia, and Arlene Abary; her sons-in-law, Eugene Mendiola and Michael Abary; and her 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A life well-lived is a precious gift. As a family matriarch, Maria leaves behind a legacy defined by unconditional love, laughter, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her faith and family.
