Maria Esguerra's Obituary
Domindor and Yolanda Esguerra emigrated from the Philippines to the United States with their daughters, Maria Cecilia and Maria Teresa, and settled in San Francisco. Cecilia started school in the parochial school system and culminated her education with an AA degree from B.A and Masters degrees in Social Work from U.C. Berkeley.
During her studies, Cecilia became passionately interested in the homeless and took a job as Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Lifelong Medical Lake serving the therapy needs of formerly homeless individuals with debilitating diseases.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Jonathan Lathan, and they had two children, Keenan and Vii.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to mourn: Jonathan, Keenan and Vii: Teresa and Robert Saucido and their sons, Robert Jr. and Victor; Arthur and Dorothy Lathan; cedric Lathan and Nancy Johnson and their children Aja and Miles; and a host of friends and family.
