Marguerite Gertrude (Lambert) Pieper Sunrise: October 30, 1924 Sunset: October 28, 2015Marguerite was born and grew up in Oakland, CA to Percy H. and Marguerite G. (Royer) Lambert. She had resided at the Alameda Healthcare & Wellness Center for the past 11 years.She graduated from Fremont High School in 1943. She attended Merritt Business College and from there went to work for Southern Pacific Rail Road as a statistical clerk in San Francisco. Later on in life after her girls were long gone from home, “Marge” worked for Kinney Brothers Wallcoverings in Oakland.Marguerite met her future husband, Clark, a sailor from Modesto, CA at a roller rink in Berkeley. He asked her to skate with him three times before she accepted. On August 5, 1945 they were married at St. Bernard Church, Oakland, CA. She was a stay at home mother to three daughters: Theresa Weaver, Stockton; Kathleen (Doug) Warren, Cottonwood Heights, UT; Madelyne Pieper, Cottonwood Heights, UT. She was the grandmother of six; Michael Durkey; Donald (Darcy) Fritschle; Marie Lowe; Robert Fritschle; Jennifer (Brian) Manchester; and Christina Bulman. Greatgrandmother of eight and greatgreatgrandmother of one; aunt of Dale (Barbara) Lambert.Marguerite enjoyed her August family vacations to Soda Springs, Donner Lake, Tahoe, and Carson City, while celebrating her anniversary. She was active in her daughters’ school, as a member of the Mother’s Club and fundraising activities. She especially enjoyed playing bingo at various churches in Oakland and Alameda. Marguerite also was on the bingo committees at St. Bernard and St. Barnabas Churches, something she always looked forward to.Marguerite was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 41 years; her brother John; and her sister Helen (Wayne) Coplen.The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, therapists, and all staff members of Alameda Healthcare & Wellness Center for the loving and supportive care given to Marguerite and her family.
