Margaret Risoli's Obituary
Margaret E. Risoli Oct. 3, 1919 – January 8, 2010 Resident of San Leandro Margaret was born in Stockton, CA on Oct. 3, 1919. Her family moved to San Leandro, CA in 1930, where she attended McKinley Elementary, San Leandro Jr. High and High School; graduating in 1937. She continued her education by obtaining her BA at San Francisco State in 1942. She started teaching 3rd grade at Martinez Elementary School, CA, but after completing the school year joined the United States Navy waves in July 1943. Prior to her discharge in 1946 she obtained the rating of Chief Storekeeper. She then moved to Seattle, WA and continued her teaching career at the elementary level until she was recalled to serve in the Korean Conflict. After discharge she returned to Seattle until 1953 when the death of her father required her to return home to care for her mother. She taught two school years at Del Rey School in San Lorenzo, CA, then transferred to Webster School in Oakland where she continued to teach until she retired in 1977. She was interested in sports, loved her garden and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of ADK alpha & CRTA #59. She is survived by her friend and companion of over 60 years, Nellie Mae Smith; her brother-in-law; George Boschetto of San Leandro, CA; several cousins in Stockton, CA; and a long-time friend, Lottie Patello of Castro Valley, CA.
