MARGARET L (BOOHER) BURLESON02/21/1923-03/28/2017Margaret Burleson, age 94, of San Lorenzo, passed away on March 28, 2017. She was born on February 21, 1923 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to Laura and Daniel Booher.Margaret spent her childhood in the small Appalachian town of Big Stone Gap with her three sisters and one brother, all of whom predeceased her. There she met Paul Burleson to whom she was married from 1945 until his death in 2007.Margaret and Paul moved to Alameda, California in 1945 and then to their forever home in San Lorenzo in 1951. She enjoyed being a housewife and mother and was active as a Girl Scout leader, PTA officer and TOPS member. She had a printing press, setting the type for, and designing wedding invitations, business cards, announcements and other small but important items. She and Paul spent summers camping throughout California, and later traveled with trailer in tow all around the United States, enjoying the National Parks, and visiting relatives in the eastern states. They especially liked traveling with their daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons. In addition, Paul was a local magician known as Paul the Magician, and Margaret spent many days assisting him on his shows. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.Margaret is survived by daughter Virginia Wood, son-in-law Lyn Wood and grandsons Jason Wood and Eric Wood. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. She touched many lives and will be missed by all.Family services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes April 6, 2017.
