Margaret (Muggy) Ann Battaion
11/21/1938 – 8/16/2020
Marge passed away with family by her side Sunday morning after a sudden heart attack. She was a native of San Francisco and lived in Fremont with her family for 60 years. During those years, she was involved with church, Little League, schools, Meals on Wheels and the Senior Center. Marge’s husband of 51 years, Robert Battaion preceded her in death. Her children, Karen Foster, Steve Battaion, Ann Rust and Cheryl Lasit, & Son-in-laws Paul Foster, Tim Rust and Vaughn Lasit survive her. She was a special Grandmother to 12 Grandchildren: David, Greg, Chris, & Hawa Foster, Michelle Stalkfleet, Anthony, Jaime, Taylor & LeeAnn Rust, Larissa, Hailey, & Breeyn Lasit and has 9 Great Grandchildren as well: Jeremiah, Lucas, Isabella, Lorenzo, Austin, Charlotte, Benjamin, Sebastian and Lyla. Her loving sisters, Edna Czaplewski, Judy Hernandez, Sister Joyce Weller, D.C, Millicent Dawson, & Sister-in-law, Rosanne Harris, and many nieces and nephews also survive her.
Marge was a typist and transcriber; she worked for Fremont Unified School District as a school secretary in the 1970’s. She was a gifted quilter and happily made several quilts for babies in NIC units around the Bay Area. She was a woman of simple pleasures. She loved spending time with family & friends and our annual family reunions at Mount Helen, creating memories we will cherish forever.
Due to Covid restrictions, a memorial service will not be possible at this time.
