Manuel Luis Lorenzo Romero's Obituary
Manuel Luis Lorenzo Romero, 19, of Hayward, California, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017.Manuel was born on December 30, 1997, at Saint Rose Hospital in Hayward, California. He was the middle child of three boys born to Samantha Duran and Robert Romero. In his adolescent years, he was recognized for his outstanding athletic ability while playing baseball at Treeview Little League. He also played basketball at Saint Clements Catholic Church. Throughout his life he established a huge impact on those he met at the Tennyson “Skateboard” Park in Hayward; he was well known, respected, and most referred to him by his nickname “Gerbs”. He proudly graduated class of 2016 from Brenkwitz High School in Hayward. He later worked at Macy’s but quit to pursue his dreams of owning his own business. Recently he achieved those dreams by becoming a business owner. His hobbies included hanging out with friends, attending Oakland A’s games, traveling and exploring new places, as well as being with family. But his passion was always skateboarding. He was energetic, with an endless smile, and a personality that lifted up any crowd just by his presence. He was confident, humorous, and wasn’t afraid to be laughed at. He was kindhearted, caring, and never hesitated to help others. He was truly someone who held a special place in your heart even if you only met him once. Manuel also enjoyed growing with his long term girlfriend of four years, Leslie. The two recently moved into their own place and were working on building their future together.
