Manuel Florence's Obituary
Manuel Florence, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2002. His beloved wife, Mabelle, preceded him in death. Manuel was born in Pahau, Hawaii on July 20, 1908.He spent most of his working life as a journeyman molder at Vulcan and Ridge Foundries.After his retirement, he volunteered to work for a year and a half with the contractor who was building the first Sanctuary at Redwood Chapel Community church, where he was a member for 45 years.Manuel and Mabelle spent many days working in the church kitchen, where he was the official pot washer.His son, William Florence of Oakland, and his daughter, Heather Landers of Hayward, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren survive Manuel.Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Redwood Chapel Community Church, 13900 Redwood Road, Castro Valley at 1:00PM, Saturday, August 3, 2002.
