Manuel Walter DeLima's Obituary
Manuel "Manny" De Lima, 81 passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2002 at San Leandro Hospital in San Leandro, California. He was born to Mary and Manuel, Sr. De Lima on July 2, 1920 in Oakland, California. He was a resident of San Leandro, California for 5 years and prior of Hayward, California for 35 years. He was born and raised in Alameda County and lived here all his life. He was a Landscaper for 30 years for Decorative Plant Rentals. He was a longtime coach for 20 years for Hayward Softball Leagues. Manny and his wife enjoyed many trips to Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada. Manny was an avid Raider fan.Manny was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Manuel, Sr. and four brothers, Norman, Willie, Danny and Bobby De Lima. Manny is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Dorothy De Lima of San Leandro, California. He leaves behind his loving son, David De Lima of Hayward, California. He also leaves behind his 2 stepdaughters, Sandra Agrella and her husband Bill of San Lorenzo, California and JoAnn Silva of San Leandro, California. Manny also leaves behind his 3 step sons, Gary Freitas and his wife Denise of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Ron Freitas and his wife Shirley of Kauila, Kona, Hawaii and Don Freitas of Kauila, Kona, Hawaii. Manny was a dear brother of his sister, Jeannette Boyd and her husband Bob of Northern California and of his brother, Clifford De Lima of Oakland, California. Manny leaves behind his wonderful 9 grandchildren and precious 5 great-grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home - Reflection Chapel and a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home - Reflection Chapel with Entombment to follow at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544.CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES MEMORIAL PARK & FUNERAL HOME -HAYWARD, CA (510) 471-3363."SERVICE OF MARKED DISTINCTION"
