MAMIE WONG LEE's Obituary
Mamie Wong Lee Resident of Castro Valley, Oakland and Augusta, GA Mamie Lee passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on March 17, 2014. Born to Wong Woey To and Chang Shee Wong on June 22, 1925, in Augusta, Georgia. Mamie graduated from Tubma¬¬n High School and moved to California in 1949 where she met Wayland, whom she married in 1950. Mamie was a housewife and worked in family grocery stores for much of her life, including Wayland’s Market in Oakland. Mamie was married to Wayland for 60 years, until his passing in 2011. Mamie is survived by her four sons Lester (Joan), Sidney, Edmond (Linda), and Alvin (Jeannette) Lee; five grandchildren David, Christopher, Ryan, Christina and Ashley Lee. She is also survived by her sister Molly (Jimmy) Lew; she was predeceased by her brothers Bot Lee (Mary) and Jack Wong and sisters Lula Wong and Martha (Johnny) Lam. She leaves behind numerous relatives across the US. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10:00 am with funeral services at 10:30am, Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward CA, followed by internment at Chapel of the Chimes.
