Mamie Lombo's Obituary
MAMIE DECENA LOMBO Age 87 passed away March 28, 2007 at The Parkview HealthCare Center in Hayward, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mamie was born in Hayward, Ca., on November 20, 1919, to the late Jose Decena born in the Philippines and Bernarda Moriao Decena, born in Portugal. She graduated from Oakland Technical High School and majored in Art and French. She lived in Oakland and Fremont for many years. In 1963, she moved to Bucks County PA, with her late husband, Daniel Lombo, and opened a Pizza Parlor in Phila. After her retirement from Bensalem Township School district, she moved back home to Hayward to be near her daughter and family, and continued her love of sewing, alterations and making quilts. She was a devoted fan of the S.F. Forty Niners, and loved music and dancing. Mamie was previously married to the late James Sizemore and is survived by their daughter Vivian Dias and son-in-law Larry Espinoza, sister Elizabeth Moreno. Her loving nieces and nephews: Sergio Don Penalver, Cynthia Mojdeh, Michael Cuevas, Frankie Decena, Josette Hall, Joseph (Randy) Decena, Wayne Penaranda, and sister-in-law Elane Decena. Many grand nieces and nephews, and other family in the Bay Area and Philadelphia also survive her. Her parents, her brothers, Joseph Decena, and Frank Decena, her loving sister Encarnation (Connie) Penaranda, brother-in-laws Pete Penaranda, Milton Moreno and loving sister-in-law Mary Adermas Decena, nephews Lyle Decena, Jerry Decena and Glenn Decena, Sr. preceded her in death. Visitation will be held Monday April 2, 2007 at 5:00-8:30 p.m. with Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA. Private Interment on April 3, 2007.
