Mabel Rose Ray a Union City resident entered into rest Monday, September 24, 2001 in Union City. Born in Russel City (Hayward) on September 19, 1921, she was 80 years of age. Mabel was a very active member of Jehovah's Witnesses for 30 years. She enjoyed teaching people the bible. Loved to entertain family and friends, especially cooking and baking for her loved ones. She worked for the Hayward Unified School District for 20 years as a cafeteria manager.Loving mother to Thomas Ray of Union City. Dear sister to Lena Pulido of Menlo Park. Devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mable was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John Norman Ray, her daughter Nancy Woods, her son John Norman Ray and her brother George Pacheco.Visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2001 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. Friends are welcome to attend a Memorial service Saturday, September 29, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 28126 Harvey Ave., Hayward.'Service of Marked Distinction'
