Lynn Horace Taylor's Obituary
Lynn H. Taylor, 85 left us on June 8, 2002. Born April 8, 1916 in San Jose, California, the only child of Horace Lincoln Taylor and Maude Agnes (Rogers) Taylor, Lynn Taylor was a lifelong Bay Area resident, living away only during his U.S. Army service time, before and during WWII. Married only once, to fellow San Jose native Barbaralee Wilkins, Lynn is survived by his daughter, Meredith Lynn O'Kelley, and grandson, Colin Flynn O'Kelley, both of Tacoma, Washington.Lynn was a competition marksman, with many medals and trophies to his name, from boy to man. Lynn used this skill to get the ROTC scholarship that made him a proud Berkeley Bear. After his graduation and commission in 1938, Lynn became a competition marksman for the Army. With the start of WWII, Lynn proved to be a capable Infantry Unit Commander, serving in Normandy and the Ardennes, and earning decorations for the European, African, and Middle Eastern Campaigns.
