Lydia B. Villacorta's Obituary
Lydia Bernardez was born September 5th, 1937 in the Philippines. She grew up there and studied to become an Optometrist. She practiced Optometry for 15 years before she and husband Cesar Villacorta moved to Michigan, and later to California. In the United States, Lydia left optometry behind but continued to use her “visionary” skills as a business administrator.Lydia and Cesar have lived in Union City since 1992 and became faithful parishioners of St. Anne’s Church. Lydia’s passing will be deeply mourned by all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her faith, her smile, and her devotion to others.Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5th and Wednesday, July 6th. There will be a Rosary service at 7pm on the 6th. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Annes, 32223 Cabello St (Union City) on Thursday, July 7 at 10am. Lydia’s final resting place is Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, 32992 Mission Blvd (Hayward).
