Luther 'Ray' Tucker a Fremont, California resident entered into rest Wednesday, April 24, 2002 in Fremont. Born in Dow, Oklahoma on June 26, 1924 he was 77 years of age. He was a member of Church of Christ in Fremont, CA. He served in the Church as an Elder for 35 years. He loved to fish and hunt. Ray also served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge.Dearly beloved husband of Evylin E. Tucker for 56 years. Loving father of Jean Nance of San Antonio, TX and Peggy Tucker of Fremont, CA. Dear brother of Inez Hobbs and Delores Pearce of Fresno, CA and Cecil Tucker of Fremont, CA. Devoted grandfather of two grandchildren. His son Allan Tucker preceded Ray in death.Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2002 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. Friends are welcome to attend a Funeral service Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Church of Christ; 4300 Hansen Avenue, Fremont, CA 94536. Interment to follow at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park; 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. 'Service of Marked Distinction'. A time of fellowship will then follow back at the church fellowship hall.
