Lucy Hooper's Obituary
Lucy Wallace Hooper was born May 4th, 1922 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. She was the youngest born to the union of the late Alex and Luella Wallace. Lucy received her education from the Public School system of Louisiana.Reared in a Christian family, Lucy accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age at the New Light Baptist Church in Marthaville, Louisiana. In 2016, Lucy was recognized as one of the oldest members of New Light Baptist Church. After moving to California , Lucy united with the Love Chapel (C.O.G.I.C) under the leadership of the late Elder PL Delaney & Elder John Cox.Lucy had a great love for family, which she passed down from generation to generation. Formerly married to the late Tommy Lee Cobbs, three children were born to this union. She later married the late Elton Hooper Sr., to this union— four children were born.Lucy enjoyed many past-times. From her love of fishing, to watching Soap Operas, and baking her famous Coconut cakes. But what far exceeded them all, was her love for family and fashion. Always with a smile in a beautiful church hat; Lucy lived life to its fullest.On August 1st, 2019 Lucy entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Velma Bryant & Middie Cotton, and her three sons— Leon “Frank” Cobbs, Lonnie Cobbs, and Jesse Hooper. One Great grandson Billy Dickerson one great great grandson Ayden Hooper. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children; Alma(Cartna)Bland, Gloria (John) Hill, Elton (Sandra) Hooper, Jr, and Larry (Lizzie) Hooper, Sr.. Her 25 grandchildren; Towanna, Trina, Adonna, Kevin, Rosie, Shenice, Denise, Reva, Rolondo, Antwan, Timothy, Tia, Mirinda, Lisimba, Jumoke, Roman, Salnea, Terraun, Eboni, Nailah, Tisha, Jamar, La’shonda, Larry Jr., Yolanda, 47-great-grandchildren, 5- great-great grandchildren. God-daughter walker and host of many nieces, nephews and cousins
