Lucila S. Padilla's Obituary
Lucila S. Padilla left this earth peacefully to be with our Creator on April 20, 2021 surrounded by her daughters and grandson. She was born in Asturias, Tarlac, Philippines to Maria dela Cruz and Estanislao Soriano on May 15, 1923 and was third to the eldest out of 10 siblings.
Lucila was predeceased by her husband Domingo A. Padilla. She was a
devoted and caring mother to Leonisa, Ernesto, Rolando and Eduardo (all
deceased) and surviving children Mercy, Yollie, Mila, Josie, Joey and Elsa, along with her sons-in-law Brigido, Arthur and daughter-in law Loida. She had 23 grandchildren.
She was a housewife for quite some times and then when things got tough she strived to become a commodity merchant to help her then retired husband to send her children to college.
She came to America through the help of her late daughter Leonisa in 1984.
Here in the U. S., she lived her life to the fullest and became active member of Filipino-American group and became popular and crowned beauty queen on many occasions, received awards and trophies. They had other activities like going to casinos and outings.
Her passion is gardening and she loved flowers. She is a disciplinarian, with strong character, independent and never asked for anything or help from anybody.
Lucila will be greatly missed by family, relatives and friends.
