Louie, Jean (Nipp)'s Obituary
Jean Louie, 89 years old of Fremont, CA passed away on Sunday Feb 6, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bing; 4 children Derrick (Therese), Geoff, Randy (Terri), and Kristine (Matthew); 8 grandchildren Ashlie (David), Kimberly (Matt), Natalie, Stacy, Jason, Jessica (Jorge), Isabella and Ruby; 5 great grandchildren Candace, Bennett, Elliott, Lucy and Olivia; 3 brothers Sheldon, Chark and Richard; 4 sisters Helen, Verna, Eva (Lawrence), and Connie. Preceding her in death were both her parents Soon Chong and Laura Nipp, and 2 sisters Sarah and Barbara.
Jean was born on May 26, 1932 in Victoria, Canada where she met her husband Bing Louie. They married on August 9, 1956. They moved to Burnaby, Canada and had 4 children while managing the Louie’s Food Basket grocery store. The family moved to Fremont, California in 1969 where they managed the New City Market grocery store.
Jean enjoyed annual trips to Reno and occasional trips to other parts of the world with family and friends. She was an avid Oakland A’s fan. She also enjoyed playing Mahjong, dining out and going shopping. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she looked forward to it every year. She had a good sense of humor, always thought of others, and was well loved.
In accordance with her wishes, Jean will have a private burial to be attended by immediate family on February 26, 2022 at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward.
