Lorraine L Farrell's Obituary
LORRAINE LOPES “RAE” FARRELL of Hayward died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, near West Point in Calaveras County. She was 91.
Mrs. Farrell was born April 16, 1932, near Honolulu to Daniel Perry and Isabella Ferreira Lopes. She married Stanley Thomas Farrell on Oct. 17, 1953, in Oakland.
She performed secretarial work in Treasure Island and managed two bowling alleys, Grand Lanes and Fiesta Lanes, in Hayward. She enjoyed bowling, concerts, painting, camping and being a devoted wife and mother. She lived in Hawaii during the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor and shared vivid memories of it with her family.
She is survived by four children: Kathleen Heltzell (Dallas) of Longmont, Colorado; Robert Farrell (Donna) of West Point; Colleen Baldock of Napa; and Maureen Ealy (Ricky) of Modesto; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Daniel Lopes Jr.; and a son, Michael Daniel Farrell.
An interment service will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. A gathering for family and friends will be held following the interment at her home, 26140 Evergreen St. in Hayward.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to dementia research and animal shelters.
