Lorenzo Ray Padilla's Obituary
Lorenzo 'Ray' Padilla, 73, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2001 at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, California. Ray was born on October 15, 1928 in Oakland, California. He has been a resident of Hayward for 45 years. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for 32 years for the City of Oakland, California. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Ray was a member of the Ligure Club, Elks, V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was also a member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Hayward, California.Ray is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia Padilla of Hayward, California. His son, Larry & his wife, Susan, granddaughter, Maren and grandson, Nick of Manteca, California. Son, Gary & his wife, Kathy, grandsons, Ryan & Jeff, granddaughters, Megan & Kaitlyn of Tracy, California. Son Jerry & his wife Martha, granddaughters, Lauren & Jaclyn of Austin, Texas. Daughter, Marla & her husband, John Solorio and granddaughters, Monica & Olivia of Tracy, California. Ray is also survived by his mother, Sylvia Martinez of Hayward, California. Brother, Joe Padilla & family of Concord, California. Sister, Gloria Peck & family of Arizona and Connie Silva & Family of Hayward, California. He was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo, Sr., sisters, Angelina Padilla, Dolores Keenen and brother John Padilla. Ray is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and a beloved aunt Gerri & uncle Ed. As well as many wonderful friends. Ray will be truly missed by all.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, December 28, 2001 at 12 noon at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home ' Reflection Chapel; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544.
