Lois M. Allott's Obituary
Lois Allott passed away on January 16, 2017 at the age of 88. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Genevieve Allott.She leaves her companion Shirley Sell of Castro Valley and her dog, Jack.Lois was born in Wilmington, Illinois, and for the past 53 years has lived in Castro Valley. She took her Nurses Training in Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois. She had the opportunity to continue in Surgery. Lois helped set up the Surgery Department at San Leandro Hospital and spent the next 30 years there, first as head nurse for 25 years, then as Director of the Surgery Department.Lois retired in 1990. She joined Senior Friends/Friendly Connections organization, serving as Volunteer Trip Escort for 9 years, and Vice-President for 6 years.She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles, AERLE No. 1139, and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.Viewing will be Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 5 – 9 PM, and the funeral will be on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:30 am in the Reflection Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home in Hayward. Interment will follow at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, also in Hayward.
