Lloyd Herbert Cooke's Obituary
Lloyd was born on July 2, 1917 to Herbert and Mary Ellen Cooke and departed this life on July 26, 2001 at age 84. He had resided at Vintage Estates Convalescent Hospital for some time.Mr. Cooke attended schools in Tucson, Arizona and Oakland, California. As a young man he worked on the rail road bridge across the Great Salt Lake. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He belonged to the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 35 years of service. He has lived in Alameda County for over 50 years.He is survived by his wife, Frances Cooke of Hayward; sons, Lyle Cooke of Hayward and Paul and his wife, Judy Cooke of Richmond; daughter, Julia and husband, Ken Orr of Milpitas; four grandchildren, Deanna Orr, Debbie Pintacura, Dawn Dinga and Daniel Orr and six great-grandchildren.
