Lillian Schauer's Obituary
Lillian Schauer passed away on July 8, 2008 just 6 weeks after she celebrated her 90th Birthday. Born May 25, 1918 in McClusky, North Dakota, and settling in St. Paul, Minnesota, Lillian and her family relocated to Oakland, California in 1952 after the Mississippi River took her home for the second time. Lillian was a doting mother and grandmother she took pride in caring for her family. Lillian was a phenomenal homemaker; she grew her own vegetables, prepared outrageous holiday meals and baked pies from scratch. On February 5, 2001 she entered the Masonic Home and lived each day thereafter as if she was on a luxury vacation. Lillian was one of 5 children and she leaves behind her sister Edna Barta in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is survived by her devoted children Donald M. Schauer Sr.,, daughter-in-law Audrey Schauer, daughter Donna Jean and son-in-law Jim Longacre. Lillian's spirit is emulated in her 5 grandchildren, Debora, Kimberly, Doreen, Donald Jr., and Daniel along with her 8 great-grandchildren. The Memorial Service will be held at the Simnoff Temple at the Masonic Home 33400 Mission Blvd., Union City, California on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Please do not send any flowers.
