Lilian Coloma Valdez's Obituary
Lilian (or “Liling" as she was dearly known to her loved ones and friends) peacefully passed away on October 23, 2022 surrounded in love with family at her side. Lilian was married to Jose Tan from San Pablo Laguna from 1980 to 1999 until the time of his death. In 2007 Lilian married Antonio Valdez from San Joaquin, Sto Tomas, Batangas.
Lilian leaves behind a very large and loving family. She was cherished and dearly loved by herfamily and friends. She was a beloved mother to her daughter Kristin Gnecco and son in law Brian Gnecco, and a very loving sister to Elvira C. Rodolfo, Maria Teresa C. Recio, Manuel C. Coloma and Cynthia C. Gamble; Aunt to Eric, Erwin, Edwin, Tonette, Dennis, Ning, Michael, Brian, Justin, Stephanie, Isabella, and Trevor; Great Aunt to Erica, Samantha, Denise, Nicky, Jayson, Abby, Mckenzie, Mckayla, Mason, Livvy, and Charlotte.
Lilian was dearly loved by all of her inlaws, nieces and nephews in the Tan family. Lilian was a beloved step mother to Antonio Valdez’s children Michael, Wheng, Jay-R and 5 grandchildren.
Lilian was born in Manila, Philippines on February 22, 1948. She was the daughter of Teodoro Moreno Coloma and Remedios Lazaro Louth. Lilian was the second eldest of five children. She graduated from Mapa High School and graduated with a degree in Business Administration at Far Eastern University both in Manila.
Right after college she worked at Philippine Veterans Administration and Department of Tourism.
Lilian immigrated to the United States in 1980 and immediately worked with an insurance company and then the Federal Government.
Lilian was a bit of a fashionista and loved dresses and jewelry in gold. Lilian liked her home spotless, a green garden, bright and colorful flowers, and most of all, loved cooking for the family. “Okoy, Fresh Lumpia and chicken Ala King were the family favorites. She liked sewing, traveling, watching movies and gardening.
One of her sisters (Tessie) would make comments like “you can sleep in her bathroom”.
Lilian was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Our beloved Lilian left our world with so much love for her family and friends.
Our family is very grateful for the lasting and beautiful legacy she left us…kind heart and love.
