Lila Frances Gamlen a Hayward resident entered into rest Friday, October 19, 2001 in Hayward. Born in Mitchell, South Dakota on January 13, 1913, she was 88 years of age. Lila loved to read, be outdoors and keep active before recently becoming ill. She was a cook for the Oakland Unified School District. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her late husband and children very much. She and her husband were contractors, they built many homes together in Montclair.Loving mother of JoAnn Gamlen of Paradise, Lorace Gamlen of Alburquerque, New Mexico, Walce Gamlen of Hayward and Thomas Gamlen of Hayward. Dear sister of Evie Reid of Wisconsin, Loris Peterson of Washington and Glen Peterson of South Dakota. Devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren.No services will be held at the request of the family.
