Lawrence Milton Shriver, Jr.'s Obituary
Lawrence Milton Shriver, Jr., resident of Hayward, Ca. Lawrence was born on July 5th, 1941, and passed away November 17th, 2011. Lawrence was born in Healdsburg, Ca, to Lawrence Milton Shriver, Sr. and Patricia Olive Hayes Shriver, and was the first born of six children. He grew up in Healdsburg, and Fresno, Ca, enjoying such things as swimming, reading, and sports. Lawrence was married to Glenna Shriver December 30th, 1971, and was married until 1997. An avid fan of sports, he spent many years coaching and refereeing soccer for the youth and adult leagues throughout Alameda County. Lawrence was known by many as both coach and teacher of the youth. In his spare time, Lawrence loved swimming, reading, bicycling, and discussing such topics as history and world events with anyone willing to listen and learn. Though making many mistakes during his lifetime, Lawrence is credited with many successes as well, and will be greatly missed by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing him. Lawrence is survived by his son, Michael Shriver, daughters Rebekah Shriver and Danna Hamling, former spouse Glenna Shriver, and his four siblings, Thomas Shriver, Sr. and William Shriver (brothers), and Diane Shriver and Mary Bordoff (sisters), grandchildren, Kimberly Searle, Shannon Hamling, Odyssey Hamling, and John Hammling III, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts, and great uncles.
