Lawrence J. Abreu's Obituary
Known as Uncle Buddy to family and friends, and to others as Larry, Lawrence Joseph Abreu passed away quietly at home in Hayward on 2/7/19 having turned 96 the previous Christmas Day. He was preceded in death by Rosemary, his wife of 68 years, his brother Leonard Abreu, sister & my mother Violet Gladys Cordeiro, nephew Lawrence Silva & niece JoAnn Hall.He is survived by his nephews Leonard & Richard Abreu, niece & goddaughter Marlene Logan, nephew & godson Joseph Gonzalves, Eddie & Alice Gonzalves, nephew Rick Silva & wife Debbie, niece & goddaughter Kathleen Harmon & husband Bob. Also survived by great nieces & nephews Sarah Perez & husband Brandon, Karen Bigham & husband Clay, John, Bill & Steven Hall, Nicole Luna, Melissa Silva, Nick Versola, Stacy Vannucci, Jenna Harmon, Raley Yeager, Danielle Clarke & of course great nephew Joshua Bigham.Uncle Buddy was one of the last of the greatest generation having served in the US Army during WWII in the 317th regiment in the 80th Division under General Patton. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant (three stripes).
