LaVerne Peterson's Obituary
Laverne T. “Pete” Peterson 1/7/28 – 8/20/2008 Byron resident LaVerne “Pete” Peterson, 80, died Wednesday at his home. Mr. Peterson was born in Hayward and lived and farmed in Byron for 46 years. He served two years in the U.S. Navy just after World War II and was a 60-year member of the plumbers union. Pete was a hard working farmer. He helped many friends build and fix things in his welding and metal shop. He enjoyed sharing his stories, and his memory never faded. Mr. Peterson is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jane Peterson; son Tom Peterson, and his wife, Aimee, of Byron; daughter, Lori Sparger, and her husband, Denny, of Tracy, and enjoyed eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Randy Peterson. A family remembrance will be conducted.
