Ladona Marie White's Obituary
Ladona (Doni) Marie White entered Heaven’s Gates on May 19, 2017 at the age of 96 years in Tracy, CA. Ladona was born in Sedro Woolley, WA on June 27, 1920. Her parents were Curt Richard Bratton and Gladys Marie Bratton. She was the oldest of the children, followed by Neil, Norman and Shirley. At a young age she moved to Oakland, CA, where she grew up. She married John Warren Vanier in 1937 and they raised three children, Richard Warren Vanier, Bonnie Jeanne Brown and Marianne Elaine Lamas in Castro Valley, Ca. They were active in Redwood Chapel Community Church and she served The Lord there for over 50 years. She was a homemaker, caregiver of many children, seamstress and wonderful Mother! In 1972 , following the death of her beloved Jack, she married Lloyd Archie White and continued the legacy of love to her children and grandchildren. She had 10 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. The children were her joy and she loved spending time with them, especially rocking babies! She moved to Tracy, CA in 2005 , to be closer to her daughter, Bonnie, who cared for her lovingly until her home going. In Tracy, she joined a new church family, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and she made many wonderful friends. She loved sewing and made personal quilts for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ladona was always assured of her future home in heaven with her loved ones and Jesus. Her mantra was ”God has a Plan,” whenever difficult circumstances arose. Her faith in God was unwavering. Jeremiah 29:11 sums up her life purpose,” For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She will be missed, but we have the assurance that we will see her again. Memorial Services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 24 at 2:00 PM Internment will be at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward, CA
