Kenneth Henry Keim's Obituary
Kenneth Henry Keim
On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Kenneth Henry Keim passed away peacefully in his sleep. Ken was born on September 13, 1926, in Oakland, California and lived all his 95 years in the bay area.
Ken graduated from Castlemont High School in 1945. He was drafted into the army and served in Japan for two years. Later he served in the Navy reserve for four years. Ken spent his working years as a dedicated Chrysler parts manager and took early retirement to care for his wife Hazel, whom he married in 1957.
Ken was blessed with two beautiful wives, Hazel Keim (Froisness) who passed in 1992 and Bonnie Keim (Donovan) who passed in 2010. Marge Ferreia, a dear friend, and loving companion also preceded Ken in death in January 2022. Ken was a loving husband, companion, and caregiver to all three of these wonderful women.
Ken enjoyed a life full of fun and activity over his many years, from square dancing, weekends at Lake Berryesea, 5-spot dance group, playing BINGO and of course telling everyone jokes and singing silly songs. Ken was active in Masonic events, serving as Worshipful Master of Lorenzo Masonic Lodge #709 in 1967.
Those who knew and loved Ken called him Dad, Gramps, Grampa, Papa Ken, Kenny, Mr. K and friend. He was a caring and loving man who would do anything for anyone. He was known in most recent years for his distinctive fedora hats of many colors and seasonal decoration! Rest in peace, you will be missed by so many. A memorial service will be held on Ken’s birthday, September 13th from 12-1:30pm, at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael in Ken's honor, for this was a meaningful organization to Ken. Please find a link to their website below:
