Keith Carlisle Hepburn's Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Keith Carlisle Hepburn. He died at the age
of 70 on March 26, 2023. Keith unexpectedly passed on a Sunday surrounded by his loved
ones.
Growing up Keith enjoyed his life to the fullest, always spending time with friends and family. He
often spoke about the love and admiration for his father Archi Hepburn who stood as his main
role-model in life that helped push Keith to work for the things he wanted most.
Keith’s love for adventure followed him throughout his life and when he married his spouse
Roxanna Hepburn on July 25,1985 he found a companion that shared this passion. Their love of
travel and fun fueled their spirits as they began to build their life and family together, having
three children; Keith, Casey and Sarah.
Having fun was met with equal parts of working hard as Keith rose to the top of his field as the
Chief Signal Engineer at BART. Keith loved his career which made it easy for him to make big
strides at his company, often mentoring others. Although Keith relished his chosen career he
was happy to retire in his later years to spend more time with his family and hobbies.
Throughout Keith’s life he was an avid music lover, teaching himself to play multiple instruments
such as the guitar, piano, and many more. Music spoke to Keith’s soul in a way that nothing else
could and you could often find him sitting and practicing an instrument for hours at a time for no
other reason than pure enjoyment.
In his retirement, Keith also found a fondness of gardening. He used the fresh ingredients he
grew in his garden in his own cooking, creating delicious dishes that his whole family were
always excited to try. Cooking became another form of creative expression for Keith as he was
never afraid to go down roads untraveled to find the most appetizing flavors that would make
the most incredible recipes.
To Keith life was simple and this is what made it so beautiful. He held a contentment for life that
so many can only strive for. He was and forever will be admired, missed, and cherished with an
immense love that cannot be put into words.
The Hepburn family is thankful for all of those that have shared their kind words and
condolences that help to honor Keith’s beloved memory.
