Katusko Harano, born Monday January 1st, 1923, in Tacoma, Washington; Entered into Rest on Monday August 26th, 2013 in Redwood City, California. Age 90 years.Preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Katsuji Harano, by her parents, Yasokichi Aochi and Kane (Hayashi) Aochi; and by her siblings, Hisayuki Aochi, Toshiko (Aochi) Ohashi, Hiroj Aochi and Yoneko Aochi.Survived by her loving children, Kenneth, Katherine and David Harano; by her grandchildren, Kristine Harano, Kimberly Haw, Erika Haw, Marisa Harano, Lauren Harano, and by her great-grandchildren, Emilyn Haw, Katelyn Wong, Kai Marin and Zachary Wong; and by her siblings, Kenji Aochi and Shiro Aochi.She attended Stadium High School, in Tacoma, Washington, and was a homemaker and office manager for many years. She was also a member of the Berkeley and Oakland Buddhist Churches. Hobbies included sewing, knitting, gardening, orchids, and traveling. She was also an avid sports fan.Services will be at the Oakland Buddhist Church, 825 Jackson St Oakland, CA 94607, on Saturday September 14, 2013 at 10:00 am.
