June Mulgrew's Obituary
June Bernice Mulgrew June 12, 1915-Apr. 30, 2010 Resident of Castro Valley June B. Mulgrew was born in Portland, Oregon in 1915 to F.C. Meyer and Florence Gertrude Meyer. The family, along with her brother Larry, moved to California in 1916 and settled in Oakland where June found a love for ballroom dancing and art. In the 1930’s, she met and married John J. Mulgrew her husband of 49 years and raised two children together – John F. Mulgrew and Florence J. Mulgrew (Morris). The family moved to Castro Valley in the mid-1950’s. June was a wonderful homemaker and famous in the family for her macaroni and cheese! She always made sure there were plenty of tidbits for company and a hearty home cooked meal set out at dinner time. June’s home was a great place for family and friends to gather for any occasion. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, entertaining guests, listening to the A’s games, and taking art classes at the Adobe. June was an especially talented painter and created many beautiful scenes on wood plaques as well as canvas. She was a creative, mindful, and strong person. Her memorable laugh, beautiful art, and love of family will live on in our hearts always. June is survived by her son John F. Mulgrew of Walnut Creek, Granddaughter Michelle J. Morris of Santa Rosa, Grandsons John A. Mulgrew, J. Andrew Mulgrew, Timothy Mulgrew, and Great Grandchildren T.J. , Ryan, Christopher, Angelica, Samantha, Andrew, Hannah, Abigail, and Great Great Granddaughter Haylie. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation Sunday May 9th from 430pm to 830pm and a funeral service on Monday May 10th at 130pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward Ca 94544.
