JUNE ELLEN CAVALIER's Obituary
June Cavalier of Hayward passed away peacefully on New Year’s Eve surrounded by family and her faithful caregiver, Alma. June was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Harvey (2013). She is survived by her daughters, Diane Garcia and Susan Hernandez, son David Cavalier, Grandchildren Richard Strock and his wife Sheri, Gene Church jr., Leah Church and Kyle Cavalier, sister Agnes Beeler, brothers, Chuck DeLong and Art DeManuiel. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. June was predeceased by her brothers Traver and Frank, and sister Hazel. Born in Oakland on June 30, 1929, she lived a full life in the bay area. She met her husband Harvey while attending high school at Fremont High in Oakland and married in 1947. June worked for Bell Brand Foods in Hayward until it’s closure then she went to work for the Hayward Unified School District as a Cafeteria Worker until her retirement. June was an avid bowler and was on many leagues for many years at Holiday Bowl. June loved to take road trips to the casinos with her husband and sister Agnes, play cards, bingo and also an avid A’s Fan for many years. She was famous for driving her classic 1966 Chevrolet Impala always in showroom condition all around Hayward. Many times offered lots of cash for her gem, which she always declined with a smile and a “no thank you”! June’s family would like to thank ACE Angel Homecare, and caregiver Alma for ALL the loving care and comfort they gave her. Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 beginning at 12:30pm with a Chapel Service beginning at 1:00pm at the Mission Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA 94544. Entombment to follow on site.
