Jun A. Golondrina, 73 of Union City, California, passed away on March 15, 2017 peacefully in his sleep.The viewing will be held from 4:30-8:30PM on March 23, 2017 in the Mission Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA (32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544). Funeral service will be held from 9-11:00AM on March 24, 2017 at Chapel of the Chimes. Burial will follow the funeral at Chapel of the Chimes at 11:30AM on March 24, 2017. Reception to follow at Tomi Buffet in Union City, CA (1604 Decoto Rd, Union City, CA 94587).Jun was born in Manila, Philippines on August 10, 1943. He graduated from Arellano High School and studied Marine Engineering in college in the Philippines. Jun was the oldest of 9 children.Jun was married to Annie Rodriguez (Golondrina) on May 27, 1967; they were married almost 50 years.Jun worked as a Welder on different Navy ships for more than 15 years. He enjoyed singing, dancing, music, cooking, and spending time with his family. He was also a strong leader, a handy man, a romantic at heart, displayed good wisdom, practicality, and common sense. Jun was a Warriors, 49er and boxing fan and was loved so much by all of his grandchildren who served to soften his heart.Jun is survived by his wife, Annie Golondrina; three children, Noel Golondrina and his wife Monica; Aaron Golondrina and his wife, Kathleen; JoAnn Dyangko and her husband, Ruperto; his 5 grandchildren, Brian, Joylyn, Andrew, Laila and Kaylee; his brother, Roy Golondrina; his sister, Marylou Vender; his nieces and nephews and the rest of his family and friends.The family of Jun A. Golondrina wishes to thank Washington Hospital, Advent Hospice Care as well as Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
