Juliana Pinon Yarra June 19, 1928 ' August 6, 2009 Resident of Fremont, CA Beloved wife of Alfredo I. Yarra, devoted mother of Josephine Oyao, Frank Yarra, Rida Granado, Esperanza Finato, Fred Yarra, Jr., Christine Kroll, Cecilia Yarra, and Theresa Yarra, loving grandmother of 16, and great 'grandmother of 10. Preceded by her husband, Alfredo, and grandson, Tony Granado, Jr. Juliana loved her family dearly. This is the legacy she and Alfredo left behind. Born in the Philippines and graduated from a seamstress school in Cebu. She came to the U.S. in 1955 with her husband and the first four children, residing in the cities of Fremont and Newark. She worked as a nursing assistant, and later in the Silicon Valley. She had a love for the ocean, dancing, singing, gardening, and dressmaking. Memorial service to be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 5:30-8:30pm at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, 32992 Mission Blvd. Funeral mass to be held on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Newark, 5788 Thornton Ave. Burial service to follow at the Chapel of the Chimes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). www.nami.org
