Joseph George “Jody” Fleischman, age 72, of Murphys, California, passed away into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 surrounded by his family. Jody was the second of six children born to Paul and Elizabeth Fleischman on March 28, 1947. He graduated from Pacific High School in San Leandro, Ca., where he met Shirley, the love of his life and High School Sweetheart. They were married on December 26, 1965, and shared a love story that spanned 53 years. They set a true example of what a marriage is all about. Joe had a passion for cars and had the gifted ability to put anything back together. He took pride in the restoration of his 67 Mustang and attending Car Shows. He used these gifts while working as a Raymond Technician and later forming his own company, American Lift Truck Service. Following his retirement, Joe pursued another passion, Gardening, when he and Shirley built their dream home in Murphys, Ca. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, going on cruises, exploring the gold rush areas, his involvement with the Native Sons organization and he treasured his Sunday mornings at Faith Community Church. Joe is survived by his two daughters Annette Viel-Taormina (Tony) and Carol Elliott (Jay). His grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as Papa and “OG” (Original Grandfather); Joseph Viel, Jason & Lance Elliott. Brothers James Fleischman (CeCe), Sean Fleischman, Chris Fleischman (Kely) and Sister Cornelia Fleischman. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Fleischman, Parents Paul & Elizabeth Fleischman, Brother Bill Fleischman, Granddaughter
Nicole Marie Viel and Great Grandson Baby Marcus Dureault.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 am at Faith Community
