Joseph Caloca, Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph 'Joe' Caloca, Sr., 87 passed away at Bay Point Health Care Center in Hayward, California on Thursday, January 9, 2003. He was born to Juan and Fernanda Caloca in Guadalajara, Mexico on December 26, 1915. Joe has been a resident of Alameda County for 62 years. He first resided in Oakland, California for 16 years and then the next 46 years in Hayward, California. Joe was a Truck Driver for Oakland Meat Company for 25 years and also was a member of the Teamsters. In Joe's early days he was a professional boxer in the 1930's. He was a very good father and a terrific provider. He loved all sports especially the Dodgers Baseball Team. He was an excellent cook.His parents and his beloved wife of 50 years, Frances Caloca on December 4, 1991, preceded Joe in death. Two sisters and a brother, Mary Rulis, Pearl Caloca and Joel Caloca, also preceded Joe in death. He is survived by his loving children, Gloria Araiza of Visalia, Joanne Knight of Sacramento, Georgia Mooney of Hayward and Joseph Caloca, Jr. of Sacramento, California. He also leaves behind a dear sister, Susie Angelo of Hayward, California.
