Joseph Bryans Beggs, “Bryans”, age 77, resident of Fremont passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side after a brief illness. Bryans was a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland and resident of Fremont for 48 years. Bryans is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 56 years, Margaret, his two sons, Joe Jr., and Stephen, his granddaughter Renee and great granddaughter Haylee. He also leaves behind his brothers, Jim (Claudia) and Billy (Jeri), his sisters, Betty (Butch) Fisher and Fiona (Dan) Mar, his stepbrothers Stan (Margaret, dec.) and Dave (Kittie) Sloan and his Aunt Evelyn Messinger as well as a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews here in the U.S., Northern Ireland and England. Bryans worked for Montgomery Wards for 25 years as well as the Oakland Tribune for 7 years and San Francisco Chronicle for 17 years where he became a pressman. Bryans was always on the go, loved working and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was passionate about his Irish heritage and some lovingly referred to him as their “wee leprechaun”. He absolutely loved the Irish holiday, The Twelfth of July and was extremely proud of the relationship he built with family in Ireland. He enjoyed working in his yard keeping it impeccable alongside his wife, playing with their dog Reilly and traveling whenever possible. He will be greatly missed by all his neighbors, his friend’s, and his family.
It was Bryans wish to be cremated and due to the unprecedented time we are experiencing, a Celebration of Life will be held later when restrictions are lifted. Please share your memories, sympathy, or words of encouragement as they will be cherished forever.
