Josefina Constantino Gonzales' Obituary
Josefina Constantino Gonzales died on July 23, 2025 with her daughter, Marinette Gonzales Bernardo by her side. Josefina was born on March 19, 1926 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Casimiro and Maxima Constantino and was one of two kids.
A true teacher, she was passionate about the education of the whole person. A elementary school master teacher for more than 40 years, Josefina’s love for fostering curiosity, creativity, and knowledge was evident in all she did. She imparted knowledge, but more importantly, taught valuable lessons to all she met: finding joy in simplicity, the importance of having a sense of fashion, and being creative, to name a few.
Her love for teaching was rooted in a faith that sustained her. She always would say “please pray for me, as I do the same to you.” This life of prayer was not just a task or a motto, it was a lifestyle. In her later years, she would always make an effort to visit the home altar, asking for the intercession of Saint Joseph, her namesake. Her faith sustained her in both good and difficult times of life, reminding her always that Christ was by her side.
May we learn from her life, the importance of prayer and work, all for the betterment of those we encounter, and above all to make God known, loved, and served.
+ Eternal Rest Grant Unto Josefina, O Lord. And Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her. May She Rest In Peace. Amen.
