Resident of San LeandroMarch 19, 1916 ' January 25, 2012Jose passed away on Wednesday surrounded by family and friends.He was born in Walnut, Kansas. He attended High School until the 11th grade when he joined the US Navy; where he became a Jet Plane Mechanic after earning his GED. He served in both World War II and The Korean War. He served in the Navy for 20 years. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time with his Children and Grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his son James's (Jim) karate demonstrations and his son Michael's (Mike) band concerts. Jose is survived by his devoted children Juanita, Margaret (Marty),James (Jim), Anna Marie (Marie), Michael (Mike), 18 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren and his Sister, Shirley of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Elizabeth (Lizzy), his brother, Robert, his 3 sisters, and son Joe, and his mother and father. His lively personality and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Friends and Family are invited to attend funeral service at:Chapel of the Chimes32992 Mission BlvdHayward, Ca 94544 There will be a graveside service immediately following and a reception afterward at the family's residence.
