Jose Guadalupe De LeonNovember 24, 1938 – May 26, 2018Jose Guadalupe De Leon was born in La Capilla, Mexico. Jose De Leon passed away from complications from an operation. He was a resident of Oakland for 48 years. Jose immigrated to Texas in 1968 and later moved to California in 1970. He was known for his hardworking ethics, his friendliness & overall good nature. He loved talking to people and extending a helping hand to everyone. He is survived by his wife of 46 years (the day he passed was their anniversary), Margarita and three children: Claudia Rosas of San Leandro, Jose Eduardo of New York & Miguel Angel of San Diego & his son-in-law, Israel Rosas; as well as five grandchildren: Angel, Alma, Aracely, Diego & Noe Rosas. Jose loved to spend all his time available with his grandchildren. He is survived by a sister, Hilaria and a brother, Jesus who live in Texas. His wife wishes to convey that she is happy that he is with the Lord and no longer suffering. Jose started working for Bay Area Rapid Transit in April of 1973 and retired in January of 2002. He worked in the Systems Service Dept. for 15 years, mostly at the Fruitvale Station & finished up another 14 years landscaping BART properties in the Grounds Dept. Jose loved to cook so he started catering on the weekends for many years with the help of his wife & children. He seemed tireless. Always helping people one way or another and very friendly. Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 11-12 at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland. There will be a short viewing earlier from 10-11. Burial will follow at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. Flowers may be sent to the Hayward location on Friday, June 1st only.
